Kotoko owing Nana Yaw Amponsah Gh¢200,000

The debt has been accumulated for the past three years

Ghanaian giants, Asante Kotoko is owing its former CEO, Nana Yaw Amponsah outstanding salaries amounting to Gh¢200,000, Getsportsgh.com can exclusively report.

The debt has been accumulated for the past three years that Nana Yaw Amponsah worked as the club’s CEO.

This was revealed by Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II when he met some club legends, supporters leadership and other stakeholders at the Manhyia Palace on Friday, July 21, 2023.

Nana Yaw Amponsah is no longer the CEO of Asante Kotoko after his three-year mandate came to an end earlier this month.

Getsportsgh.com understands Asante Kotoko is saddled with a debt to the tune of Gh¢3million. The debt has been accumulated over the past three years.

Otumfuo, during the meeting this afternoon, is reported to have said that he will need about Gh¢5million to settle the debt, among others.

He is reported to have confirmed that the playing body of Asante Kotoko have not been paid for five months of which he assured to settle that.

Currently, Asante Kotoko is without a substantive head coach following the sacking of Burkinabe trainer Seydou Zerbo in March this year.

Abdulai Gazale led the club to the rest of last season’s league matches on the interim but reports from the meeting indicate that Dr Prosper Nartey Ogum could make a return to the club as the head coach after guiding the team to the league title last two seasons.
