Kotoko owes over Gh¢3m as debt

The debt has been accumulated for the past three years.

Ghanaian powerhouse, Asante Kotoko is saddled with debt to the tune of over Gh¢3 million, Getsportsgh.com has gathered.

Per information available, the debt has been accumulated for the past three years.

This was revealed when Asantehene and owner of Asante Kotoko, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II met some club legends, supporters leadership and other stakeholders at Manhyia on Friday, July 21, 2023.

Getsportsgh.com understand Otumfuo promised at the meeting to settle the debt before a new administration resume office.

Already Otumfuo has dissolved the Asante Kotoko board after their three-year mandate expired this month

The 12-member board members and the management of the club had their term elapsed concurrently.

Meanwhile, Asante Kotoko is currently without a substantive head coach after the sacking of Seydou Zerbo in March this year with assistant coach Abdulai Gazale given the job on the interim.

Reports indicate that Dr Prosper Nartey Ogum could return to Kotoko as the head coach after leaving the club as league champion.
