Nations FC is not for Dr Kwame Kyei – Nana Coker clarifies

Many believe Nations FC is the sole property of astute businessman and former board chairman of Kotoko

Former Asante Kotoko General Manager, Nana Gyambibi Coker has made a clarification as to the ownership of Nations FC.

Many believe Nations FC is the sole property of astute businessman and former board chairman of Asante Kotoko Dr Kwame Kyei but Nana Coker rebuffed that.

According to Nana Coker, Nations FC belong to the two children of Dr Kwame Kyei but the club’s renovated stadium is the property of the renowned businessman.

“Let me correct any misconceptions about Nations Football Club ownership. Nations FC does not belong to Dr. Kyei but to his two children. Additionally, the stadium, known as Dr. Kyei Complex, is his personal property”, Nana Coker said in a statement.

He added “the main reason he bought and renovated the stadium was to serve the team’s interests.”

Nations FC will participate in the 2023/24 Ghana Premier league season after securing promotion last season.

The club emerged winners of the division one league zone two ahead of Skyy FC who were touted as favorite.

As part of preparations for the upcoming league season, Nations FC have appointed Kassim Mingle as their new head coach.

Mingle joined Nations FC after a scintillating spell at Bechem United.
