King Faisal drags GFA to CAS, wants 2023/24 season on hold

King Faisal is in CAS seeking a redress of their case against Tamale City

 

King Faisal Football Club has prayed the Court of Arbitration of Sports (CAS) to put the 2023/24 league season in Ghana on hold due to their case with Tamale City.

King Faisal is in CAS seeking a redress of their case against Tamale City which was dismissed by both the GFA Disciplinary Committee and the Appeals Committee.

The Kumasi-based club after suffering a heavy defeat to Tamale City lodged protest against Isaac Mensah/Jireh Kojo Nissi for having two different identities in the FIFA Connect System.

King Faisal wanted the Disciplinary Committee to penalize Tamale City and the player by way of six points deduction and a year ban for Issac Mensah/Jireh Kojo Nissi.

Speaking to Onua TV, Awal Mohammed who is the Communication Director of King Faisal disclosed that his outfit want CAS to put the upcoming league season on hold until the finality of the case.

He indicated that his outfit were not satisfied with the ruling from both the GFA Disciplinary Committee and the Appeals Committee thus the decision to seek redress from CAS.

 

It remains to be seen as the GFA has 20 days to respond before CAS will call for an arbitrary of the case.

Meanwhile, the Ghana Football Association has announced September 15-18, 2023 for the commencement of the 2023/24 Ghana Premier league season.
