Hearts of Oak announce David Ocloo’s departure

Ocloo has mutually parted ways with the former Ghana Premier league champions

Ghanaian giants, Hearts of Oak have announced the departure of interim coach David Ocloo.

Ocloo has mutually parted ways with the former Ghana Premier league champions after just eight months at the club.

A club’s statement reads, “Hearts of Oak and Coach David Ocloo have mutually parted ways. We wish him the best in his next endeavour.”

David Ocloo joined Hearts of Oak prior to the commencement of the 2022/23 league season.

It is believed that before the announcement, David Ocloo had tendered in his resignation letter to the management of the club after the league season came to an end.

He first deputized Serbian trainer Slavko Matic who was appointed the head coach of the club after the departure of Samuel Boadu.

Ocloo was however given the job on interim basis after Hearts of Oak decided to terminate the contract of Matic over uninspiring performance.

He guided Hearts of Oak to 12th position last season, escaping relegation on the final day of the league season.

Before joining Hearts of Oak, David Ocloo was the assistant coach at Asante Kotoko during the tenure of head coach Dr Prosper Nartey Ogum.

He has previously had stint with West African Football Academy (WAFA), Liberty Professionals, Inter Allies and Asante Kotoko.
