Kurt Okraku deserves another term as GFA President – Randy Abbey

Kurt Okraku will have his mandate as GFA President coming to an end in October this year

Executive Council member of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Randy Abbey has said Kurt Okraku deserve to continue as president of the association.

Kurt Okraku will have his mandate as GFA President coming to an end in October this year and want to be re-elected for another four-year term.

He will face a keen competition from George Afriyie who is a former Vice President of GFA and has publicly announced his decision to contest for the top seat in the association’s elections later this year.

However, Dr Randy Abbey believes Kurt Okraku has been impressive since taking over the GFA seat in October, 2019 and deserve another four-year term.

“Kurt Okraku deserves another opportunity to do much better work for our football”, he told Takoradi-based Spice FM in an interview.

On why Kurt Okraku should be re-elected as GFA President, Randy Abbey said, “there has been a significant improvement with our various national teams under Kurt, but there is a lot that needs to be done differently.”

Meanwhile, former Asante Kotoko defender Stephen Baidoo believes Kurt Okraku has underperformed since ascending the throne as GFA President and must be voted out.

“I’m not part of those who vote, If I happened to be part of them, normally when things are not going on well, you vote for change and that’s what I would have done”, he told Onua TV.
