Hearts of Oak issue a statement on Slavko Matic ruling

The Serbian trainer was sacked as the head coach of Hearts of Oak

Ghanaian giants, Hearts of Oak have issued a statement on the FIFA ruling directing the club to settle its former coach Slavko Matic.

The Serbian trainer was sacked as the head coach of Hearts of Oak after five months in charge of the club.

Matic had a difficult time with the supporters of the club following the team’s abysmal performance under his tenure last season.

The 43-year old was even confronted and prevented by the supporters of the club from working at the Hearts of Oak training grounds.

He subsequently lodged a complaint at the Ghana Police headquarters in Accra after the incident and was told to stay away from the club until further notice.

Slavko Matic later dragged Hearts of Oak to FIFA for breach of contract and other allegations.

In a statement, Hearts of Oak have revealed that the world football governing body has directed them to pay $14,002 as amounts outstanding for renumeration, reimbursable and two months of breach of contract.

According to the club, all claims by Slavko Matic were rejected by FIFA.
