Ghana football is sinking under Kurt Okraku – Stephen Baidoo

The current GFA President, Kurt Okraku is seeking for another term when his tenure in office elapse in October this year.

With few months to the Ghana Football Association elections, former Asante Kotoko captain Stephen Baidoo believes Kurt Okraku and his administration must not be reconsidered for another term in office.

The current GFA President, Kurt Okraku is seeking for another term when his tenure in office elapse in October this year.

Kurt Okraku believes his administration has overachieved since assuming office in October, 2019 and therefore deserves another four-year mandate to drive the affairs of the country’s football industry.

But Stephen Baidoo who played for AshantiGold SC and Asante Kotoko and had several call-ups to the Black Stars believes the current Ghana FA administration has underperformed.

According to him, Ghana football is drowning under Kurt Okraku and his administration despite the enormous support received from government and other stakeholders.

Speaking in an interview on Onua TV monitored by Getsportsgh, Stephen Baidoo mentioned that Kurt Okraku has not overachieved as he claims.

“Achievement on what?. When you say achievement, it should reflect and get results but currently our Black Stars and other national teams sleep in hotels instead of Prampram. If Kurt has overachieved, by now Ghana should be boasting of training camps that host national teams like what Morocco and other serious-minded countries have done.

“Ashgold have good facilities but we are rather bent on sinking the club with those facilities left to rot in Obuasi, Ghana football is going down, we don’t have proper structures in place among others. If the Moroccan FA President says he has overachieved, I will agree with him because we are all witness to the massive transformation but in Ghana what has Kurt Okraku and his administration achieved, it’s not about securing sponsorship deals which are not even reflecting on the clubs.

On whether Kurt Okraku should be retained for another four years as Ghana FA President, Stephen Baidoo who was a member of the Black Stars team at the 1996 summer Olympics said that, “I’m not part of those who vote, If I happened to be part of them, normally when things are not going on well, you vote for change and that’s what I would have done.”
